This is a bit of a background on President Snow and how Panem+The Hunger Games came to be. Yes, he really is THAT old. He's the dictator, so he can afford crazy life extension treatments. It starts in a middle school where, strangely, it's host to a funny government experiment where the kids have total anarchy.
Jennifer Larson is one of the kids, and is leading one of the two opposing sides against a nortorious bully. The fight ends in disaster, and Jennifer and a few close friends of hers are forced to flee the school and live in the wilderness. One of them becomes President Snow.
